Ian Potts has lived in Ealing for many decades with his wife, Hilary. He has been at the heart of Ealing over this time, whether teaching our children, representing us on Ealing Borough Council, being a governor for nine different schools, volunteering during the London Olympics, and much, much more. Ian is currently a London Marathon & Ealing Half-Marathon Assistant, London Ambassador, and a National Trust Osterley guide.
With a background in mathematics and accountancy, Ian has always brought an analytical mind and precise framing to his work. Now retired, Ian was previously a maths teacher at St Benedict's, an accountant, and a lecturer in accounting (where he tutored a young Rt. Hon. James Cleverly MP). He is currently a vice-Chair and Governor of Drayton Green Primary School and Chair of the London Borough of Ealing Pensions Board.
Ian has had a long and illustrious career with the Conservative Party in Ealing, being a Councillor for 36 years and our Mayor in 2004/5. He has held many local association roles in the former Ealing Acton association, Ealing North, and in the Ealing MCA. Ian has been President of the Ealing MCA since 2015, bringing a depth of experience and wealth of knowledge to the role.
