HMOs, when poorly regulated, can lead to issues such as overcrowding, pressure on local services, parking difficulties and antisocial behaviour. Whilst the council can’t explicitly prohibit HMOs, it has a responsibility to prevent the over concentration of them and ensure they are properly regulated.
We, the undersigned, call on Ealing Council to create a new plan which considers the impact of an over-concentration of HMOs in specific areas in order to preserve the balance and character of our neighbourhoods.
There are more than 8000 HMOs in Ealing. This is drastically changing our neighbourhoods. The Council needs a radically different approach to protect the Ealing we know and love.
